BREAST LIFT Serving Toronto, Scarborough, Mississauga and Oakville

OVERVIEW

Sagging of the breasts can occur over time due to factors such as pregnancy, and the force of gravity. Sagging breasts are noticed when the breasts lose their shape and firmness as the skin loses its elasticity. Breastlift is a surgical procedure to correct sagging breasts. Though the effects of breastlift surgery aren't permanent it does provide a long-term result. Occasionally breast implants are inserted in conjunction with breast lift in order to deliver a younger and fuller look. Anyone with small, sagging breasts is a good candidate for breastlift, however, breastlift surgery can be performed on any size breasts. Breast lifts are performed under general anesthesia, so you will sleep through the operation.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

Breastlift procedure involves an incision following the natural contour of the breast. The incision will define the area of skin that will be removed and a new location for the nipple will be outlined. Your nipple will be repositioned to a higher area on the breasts once the excess skin has been removed. The skin around the nipple is then pulled down and around the nipple to reshape the breast. Skin will be stitched around the areola and downwards from the nipple as well as along the lower crease of the breast. Incision and subsequent stitching in breastlift procedure will be much less pronounced in case of smaller breasts.

FOLLOWING BREASTLIFT SURGERY

Any pain or discomfort you may feel will be alleviated with medications prescribed to you after surgery. You'll need to wear a support bra for the first month after surgery. Breastlift surgery stitches will be removed after a week or two depending to the speed with which your skin heals. Since your milk ducts and nipples will not be disturbed during the breastlift surgery, your ability to breast-feed will not be affected should you plan to become pregnant after the surgery.
