Liposuction Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is usually performed to relieve symptoms of shoulder and neck pain. Women with a D plus breast size are often uncomfortable because of the excess weight of their breasts. Traditional breast reduction techniques relieve these symptoms by using various incision patterns to allow direct removal of excess breast tissue. The results are very successful in relieving symptoms, but scars, possible loss of feeling and healing problems can occur.

Liposuction breast reduction can reduce the weight of heavy breasts by removing the fatty component of the breast tissue. The procedure is performed under a general anesthetic using a single 1 cm. incision on each side! Scarring is almost zero and there is no risk of nerve damage causing numbness because no breast tissue is cut during the procedure.

Following surgery, I advise my patients to wear a snug supportive bra to minimize swelling and help the skin to shrink. Most patients are back to normal daily activities within a week. Swelling gradually resolves. The final breast shape and size takes 6 to 8 weeks to stabilize. Patients can expect to lose at least one cup size and possibly as many as two or even three. The absence of unsightly scars has made this procedure increasingly popular.
