FOREHEAD LIFT Serving Toronto, Scarborough, Mississauga and Oakville
OVERVIEW
A forehead lift surgery will raise the muscles and tissues that cause
furrowing to create a smoother forehead, raised eyebrows and diminished
frown lines. A forehead lift will minimize the visible effects of aging
such as sagging eyebrows and deep wrinkles on the forehead. The forehead
lift surgery can be performed on persons who have developed forehead wrinkles
or frown lines due to overactive muscles regardless of age. The forehead
lift procedure is also helpful in persons with inherently heavy brows
or the horizontal line above the nose. The forehead lift surgery will
deliver a generally more alert look to the face. Some patients may wish
to consider a forehead lift in conjunction with facelift in order to provide
a smoother overall look to the face. In the same manner, eyelid surgery can also be performed concurrently with a forehead lift in Toronto to achieve a uniform youthful look.
SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
I use the endoscopic techniques to perform forehead lift surgery because
of the reduced pain and quicker recovery period. The endoscopic forehead
lift involves three to five short scalp incisions, each less than an inch
in length. An endoscope - a camera device connected to a monitor - is
inserted through one of the incisions to allow a view of the muscles and
tissues under the skin. The forehead skin is lifted through another incision
and the muscles are trimmed to create the desired tension in order to
produce the smooth look to the forehead. In certain cases the eyebrows
will be slightly pulled and sutured into position. The incisions in the
scalp will then be stitched.
FOLLOWING FOREHEAD LIFT SURGERY
Any temporary numbness and discomfort can be controlled with medication
prescribed after surgery. Stitches used to close the incisions are usually
removed within a week. You may resume normal activities within a week to 10 days after your Toronto forehead lift surgery.
