The Mercedes CLA might not be among the most practical electric cars, but it does offer a comfortable ride and can charge at speeds of up to 320kW. That works out to about $99 per mile of range, making it one of the strongest new EV range values in the U.S. market. The cheapest new EV in 2026 with more than 300 miles of range is the Nissan LEAF S+ FWD, with 303 miles of range and a listed MSRP of $29,990. A used long-range EV can sometimes be a better tenteram than a new short-range EV, but battery condition, warranty coverage, and charging needs matter more when buying used.
